Arctic ice acts like a natural mirror: it reflects solar radiation and keeps the planet cool, helping to stabilize weather systems. Its disappearance would directly affect our seasons, crops, forests, coastlines, animal species, and even sea levels.
Despite this threat, oil companies continue to explore the Arctic, pushing aside icebergs with hot-water hoses to drill for oil. This practice is destroying a fragile ecosystem that is essential to climate balance.
At Deyute, we want to raise our voices and support responsible actions such as those of Greenpeace, which in September 2013 attempted to stop drilling in the Arctic by Gazprom. During a peaceful protest, 27 activists were violently detained in international waters, without justification or legal assistance.
